A CHRISTMAS shopping pop up filled with top UK designer-makers came to Altrincham Town Hall at the weekend. Forty designers, makers and artists were specially selected to take part in the Christmas edition of the Little Northern Contemporary Craft Fair on Sunday.

The LNCCF has become a firm favourite over the years for craft that is a cut above the rest. It is an opportunity to buy gifts in time for Christmas as well as attracting makers from across the region and giving them a chance to showcase their products. This also includes a lot of newcomers, who sold a range of hand-made contemporary work from unique jewelry and fashion accessories to bespoke clothing, lighting and crafted objects for the home.

The LNCCF originates from the team behind the award-winning Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair which celebrated its tenth year recently in its new home of Upper Campfield Market in Manchester City Centre.

Organiser of the event, Ann-Marie, said:

“The Little Northern has proved a small but perfectly formed spin-off of the GNCCF attracting people from all over Cheshire and Greater Manchester.

“The event replicates the standard of the GNCCF and features artists who have all been selected for their excellence.

“It’s directly opposite Altrincham Market so it’s an ideal opportunity to visit the town for Christmas shopping and support independent traders in the process.”

The Little Northern offers an inspiring alternative to the frenetic high street. It’s about finding the perfect present and buying direct from the maker which allows the customer to learn about the story and skills behind the work, which makes it more special.
