Local charities have come together to organise The Great Big Festive Quiz.

The quiz will help raise money for struggling local charities in Salford.

Tickets cost £5 and include a place in the quiz and a buffet meal. All the proceeds will be given directly to Salford-based charities.

The quiz will take place on Tuesday 3rd December from 6pm, at Eccles Town Hall, in the Community Hall. There will be prizes, music, drinks and a raffle on the night.

Salford 4 Good is a charity which supports the 13,600 local charities in Salford, and has partnered up with Salford CVS to promote and raise money for these charities. These include The Red Box Project and Salford Food Bank, with the latter at risk of closing due to lack of funding.

The Red Box Project provides young women with sanitary products in Salford, to ensure they do not miss school due to their periods.

Salford Food Bank, like many food banks around the country has seen a steep increase in the last five years.

Chair of trustees, Matthew Chandler, said: “The Food Banks are struggling to keep up with the growth in demand, therefore the quiz will aid the Food Bank so it can continue to help people in crisis.”

To secure a place in helping to raise money for these local charities, tickets must be purchased by Friday 29th November.

Call: 0161 787 7795 or email: office@salfordcvs.co.uk, to secure a ticket.
