Salford-based homeless charity Emmaus is offering house clearance services.

Bosses hope the latest doorstep service will increase the number of affordable furniture and other household items customers can then buy from their store.

Gail Trowbridge from Emmaus said the clearance service was free “depending on the service they require – if it’s a full clearance we will charge a reasonable fee if it is just a cherry pick and we can sell everything we would not charge.”

Most commonly the charity’s services are required following an individual passing away, in which they will clear a whole home and resell items that are in good condition.

Unwanted items will be taken to the skip.

The charity tries to respond as soon as possible to the request at the customer’s convenience.

The store is based at Emmaus House, 101 Fitzwarren Street, Salford, M6 5RQ. So head on down and have a browse to support the charity and its efforts.
