Oasis Hub

The Oasis Hub in MediaCityUK has a whole host of events taking place for a range of people to get involved in this week.

Originally created as Salford Central Mission United Reformed Church, the Oasis Hub is ‘actively engaged in linking the community of Salford’ and works to support people of all ages and circumstances to feel included and part of something. It aims to make people believe they can contribute and have a sense of deep belonging.

They try primarily to make people feel ‘connected, supported, happy and proud’ to live here.

Beginning tomorrow (Wednesday) there will be six events taking place over the course of just three days. All of which are listed below:

Wednesday October 5:

– Community cafe (open to everyone), taking place between 10am – 2pm.
– Community food store (register online beforehand via this link.), taking place at 10:30am – 2pm.

Thursday October 6:

– PlaySpace (group for parents and their toddlers/young children), taking place between 10am – 11:30am.
– Holy Hub Knit and Knatter (open to everyone, no experience required) 5:30pm – 7pm.

Friday October 7:

– Talk English Cafe (open to people of all abilities), 10:30am – 12pm.
– Youth Club (years six-eight from 5pm – 6.15pm and years 9-11 from 6.30pm – 7.45pm), 5pm – 7.45pm.

A few of these events are weekly occurrences at the Oasis Hub, with both the PlaySpace and Talk English cafe taking place weekly at the days and times shown above. However, the PlaySpace has a £1 entry fee per family.

The Community Cafe is also held weekly but it’s usually held every Wednesday from 9am – 11am, this week being adjusted to start an hour later and end two hours later than normal.
