One and Two New Bailey as seen from the street

A total of half a football pitch worth of office space for an international tech company is set to be created at Salford’s New Bailey.

More than 44,000 sqft of space at Two New Bailey will be home to international cloud and data technology company, Mattilion.

Following the agreement from Matillion and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMU), New Bailey will be home to the startup for the foreseeable future after agreeing a 10-year lease with Salford City Council.

The company has previously been based in Denver, Colorado, Madrid and now Salford.

Similarly, the CMU will join BT and HMRC in One New Bailey for the next few years, with their lease being an undisclosed length, but still being a good sign for improvement within Salford.

Salford City Council chief executive, Tom Stannard, said: “I’m as excited, as I’m sure they are, to be welcoming both Matillion and the Competition and Markets Authority to New Bailey.

“It’s further positive news for our property portfolio and in particular this development, which has already attracted other big names recently.

“These confirmed leases are testament to our commitment as a council to offering office space that meets the needs of a variety of businesses.”
