Salford City Post Office – which was threatened with closure last year – could be relocating instead.
The Post Office branch at 112 Rossall Way could move to the empty Admiral Casino at the shopping centre at 81 Pendleton Way.
Subject to consultation, it would be refurbished for Salford Post Office, with cards and stationery retail alongside.
The proposed location is approximately 240 metres from the current branch. Salford Shopping Centre car park is also 50 metres away with free parking for the first three hours and easy access to public transport.
Subject to agreement, there could also be a cash deposit enabled ATM.
Last year, the Post Office decided to move to a fully franchised network, which included ending its operation of the Post Office at 112 Rossall Way.
Firstclass Managerial has operated the store since September 2025. The company runs 21 Post Offices nationally, including 11 across Greater Manchester.
It wants to move the branch into modern premises while continuing to offer Post Office services to the local area.
The same products, opening times and services will remain available at Salford City Post Office.
The opportunity to give feedback will close on December 9 2026. During this time, customers can share their views online here, with the branch code 043422.
