A group of artists are set to take part in a huge ‘Art Battle’, with all proceeds going to a Salford charity.

Ten artists have 30 minutes to create their masterpiece where the audience votes the winning piece. More than 250 artists have battled it out throughout the event’s history.

Salford CVS announced that Salford4Good is the next designated charity for the event, with half the auction proceeds going to the Cost-of-Living Crisis Fund which has already raised more than £47,000.

Founded by John and Sophie Macaulay, Art Battle MCR was established in 2013 and is a live painting event.

The charity have previously raised over £146,000 for an Emergency Response Fund (Covid-19).

Paul Dennett, City Mayor of Salford, said: “Salford4Good is all about utilising local opportunities for local causes.

“With the country facing a cost-of-living crisis, it has never been more pressing to ensure Salford’s vibrant VCSE sector can continue to do the invaluable work of supporting communities across our city.

“The launch of this fantastic resource will provide another crucial link across Salford’s VCSE system and ensure the essential work of the sector goes to support those who need it most.”
