Salford locals have been making the most of a flooded subway under the Regent Road roundabout after a pipe burst nearby yesterday.

Kids and adults alike have been spotted enjoying the cooling water amid a record-breaking heatwave that has seen the mercury peak at 30 degrees.

Videos posted to twitter highlighted the extent of the flooding as well as the people revelling in its timely apparition.

The pipe seemed to have burst in the late afternoon and continued to expulse water into the night.

One thing for sure is that no one is complaining about Salford’s very own knock-off Jet d’Eau, with some even getting a few lengths in.

The last week has seen a scorching average temperature in Salford of 27 degrees with many places across the UK seeing record highs.

It remains unclear how the pipe burst and there is yet to be comment from any authority on the matter.
