Salford police are clamping down on Pancake Day pranksters – warning that throwing flour and eggs is punishable by law. 

Police are already investigating one incident of antisocial behaviour by a group of young people near Salford’s Blossom Way Estate.

The young people have been hurling eggs at vehicles and homes.

The area will be patrolled by officers.

Authorities have sent a  reminder that this behaviour will not be tolerated and when identified the youths will be dealt with accordingly.

The pranks can also give rise to prosecutions for criminal damage.

Information is being requested by Salford Neighbourhood Team officers.
