Neighbourhood coffee cart Spice & Grind will be going upmarket when the business moves into the ground floor of the £36 million, 12-storey sustainable office building Eden in New Bailey, Salford.

Owner Samantha Seddon said: ‘’I am so excited! My business started out in a horsebox which, when I bought it to renovate, still had hay in it!

‘’To be moving from that into a building I have watched grow before my eyes onto Salford’s skyline, is more than I could ever have dreamt of.’’

Currently placed next to the River Irwell, Spice & Grind is more than a coffee hut.

‘’Spice & Grind is relationships; getting to know the customers and building a community centered around premium coffee and a premium service,” said Samantha.

The record-breaking sustainable office building and Spice & Grind want to create a sense of calm and balance for the public.

Phil Marsden, the North West Managing Director for Muse, joint developers of the Eden building, said: ‘’We knew Spice & Grind was the perfect partner for this facility at Eden.

‘’Samantha shares our passion for really getting to know and connecting with people and places in ways which support both wellness and sustainability.”

The coffee shop will be offering a menu of expertly made coffee along with light bites including grazing boards, bagels, pastries and sweet treats.

Eden’s ground floor and the cafe’s furniture will be carefully chosen based on sustainable credentials.

FSC timber will be used throughout the cafe area for the countertop, made from 85% recycled glass.
