Plans to transform a brownfield site on Liverpool Road into a new 100,000 sq. ft. industrial hub have been approved.
The approved scheme aims to ‘promote economic growth in the area’ by redeveloping the current brownfield site’ into a ‘well-connected employment zone’.
Peel Waters has designed the development to be split across eight units ranging from 4,338 sq. ft. to 39,460 sq. ft. The site will ‘provide a range of industrial and logistics space to suit and attract a variety of businesses’.
The approved 108,553 sq ft site has also been designed to a Grade A specification and will be aiming for a BREEAM Excellent rating.
The scheme named Halo West, has been designed to make full use of its strategic location next to J11 on the M60. It will supposedly allow future users of the site access ‘within minutes’ to the ring motorway and from there the major aerial routes of the M62 and M6.

The site on Liverpool Road has previously been used as a waste recycling facility.

Is the site on Liverpool Rd in Peel Green where you are proposing to install the cycle lanes? Cutting the 2 lanes down to one towards the motorway? If so this will cause heavier traffic going to the motorway.
You can do this to an already at breaking point major junction of the M60 at J11 but you can’t paint a historical feature which is Barton Swing Bridge which has been in such need for over 10 years. Ridiculous the amount of traffic and pollution this will cause to an ill thought out development for traffic management which is also known as the Traffic Centre…
