Salford Red Devils prepare for Magic Weekend lose to Catalan Dragons in the Challenge Cup Quarter finals

Salford Red Devils will host Hull FC this weekend as they continue the search for their second league victory.

The Red Devils will be hoping to use this game to bounce-back from last week’s defeat against St Helen’s, losing 46-4.

Paul Rowley’s side were beaten at the Salford Community Stadium conceding nine tries in the one-sided fixture.

The side who are still operating under salary-cap restrictions amid ongoing ownership uncertainty, suffered their 13th defeat in fourteen matches – but will be hoping to turn the tides against Hull FC.

However, this won’t be an easy fixture for the Red Devils – as John Cartwright’s side will be looking to return to winning games too.

The travelling side are coming off of the back of a 14-22 defeat to Castleford Tigers.

Although Hull FC will be walking into the fixture with more confidence – winning two of their last three fixtures, beating Leigh Leopards 12-26, and Catalans Dragons 0-34.

And with the stronger form, they will be hoping to turn around their form against a depleted Salford side.

However, the Red Devils should look to take confidence into the fixture despite the off-field issues – with Hull FC losing 10-12 to 11th place Huddersfield Giants on Magic Weekend.

The defeat took Huddersfield above the Red Devils – with that being their only win of the season.

Nonetheless, the ability for Huddersfield to secure their solo win against Hull FC, will give Paul Rowley and his players a glimmer of hope.

However, the confidence will be very different to the two sides last meeting that saw the Red Devils walkaway with a 4–58-win last season in the clubs charge to the playoffs.

And with vastly different circumstances this time round, Salford will be hoping for strong support as they continue to search for a return to winning ways.

The game will kick off at 3pm on Sunday 22 June at the Salford Community Stadium – more information ahead of the fixture can be found here.
