A woman who posed as a beggar took advantage of a kind-hearted Salford motorist and stole her car.

The carjacking  took place outside a supermarket on Black Friars Road at around 11am on Sunday.

The victim reported seeing a woman outside a Nisa Local store, whom she believed to be begging. After entering the store, she purchased food for herself and then gave some to the woman outside.

But when the generous shopper returned to her car to drive away, the woman she had given food to forced her way into the vehicle along with a man.

An altercation in the street followed before she exited the vehicle and the offenders drove away.

A man and woman have since been arrested in connection with the robbery.
