Eccles residents can look forward to a new artisan bakery, named Monton Crumb Works, promising fresh sourdough, pastries and baked goods.
Application plans have been submitted to transform an industrial unit at 59A Clifton Road, Monton, M30 9QS into the new artisan bakery producing pastries, breads and cakes on-site.

Workshop B2 alongside the proposed street scene for Monton Crumb Works.
Monton Crumb Works will act as a retail bakery with a café seating area, as well as providing a wholesale supply to local independent retailers and other cafes.
The bakery will aim to be open from 7am – 7pm and is easily accessible by public transport. It will be an appreciated addition to an area with strong pedestrian activity, with immediate access to Swinton Greenway and a short walk away from Monton High Street.
The site will also benefit from on-site cycle storage and four on-site parking spaces including a disabled parking bay, preventing neighbours of the site from feeling too overcrowded.
A Supporting statement from Sandywood Property Ltd said: “The intention is to create a high-quality neighbourhood bakery producing fresh sourdough, pastries, and baked goods throughout the day, supported by a modest coffee offer and a comfortable place for people to sit, meet, and spend time.
“The proposal focuses on craftsmanship, simple ingredients, and the type of everyday bakery experience that has become increasingly valued in local communities.”
“The design approach is simple and understated, retaining the utilitarian charm of the workshop while introducing warm, natural finishes that reflect traditional bakery craftsmanship.”
The plans will go to planning for consideration.
