Pets At Home and Vets For Pets in Salford will relocate at the end of the week, with the store more than doubling in size.
The £1.3 million investment will see the store move this Friday to Regent Road, just three minutes away from its previous location of Regent Road Retail Park, and will expand from two consultation rooms to five.
The veterinarian practice has also re-branded from Companion Care to Vets for Pets.
Open seven days per week, with free parking, the purpose-built practice will have dedicated cat and dog waiting areas, dental x-rays, operating theatres, haematology, digital x-rays and ultrasound capabilities, an in-house laboratory, acupuncture and a Pet Passport service.
Joint practice owner Madalina Obreja said: “We have been caring for the pets of Salford for many years and our passionate team is dedicated to providing high-quality, first opinion care to the local community.
“Our new practice gives us more space, facilities and modern equipment to continue doing what we love – supporting pets and the people who love them.”
The grand opening is set for 11am on Friday 27 March where CEO Martha – the practice’s resident Shih Tzu – will help to cut the ribbon to officially mark the opening.
Martha was brought into the practice a very poorly 6-week-old Shih Tzu puppy and given just 48 hours to live. However Martha made a remarkable recovery and was adopted by Head Registered Veterinary Nurse, Stephanie Clegg.
Affectionately titled ‘CEO’, Martha now volunteers as a registered therapy dog with Therapy Dogs Nationwide, supporting children, patients and community groups.

Local pet owners can expect an opening weekend packed with activities, including:
· Free goodie bags
· Free face painting (Saturday & Sunday, 10:30am-2:30pm)
· Free ‘pupcakes’ (plus cupcakes for well-behaved humans)
· Free Pet Pals workshops
· A ‘Golden Bone’ treasure hunt, with five £50 bones hidden around the store
· Behind-the-scenes tours of the vet practice plus free acupuncture taster sessions
