Following a hugely successful UK tour, a live theatre adaptation of the Emmy award-winning children’s television series Bluey will take centre stage at the Lowry this May.

Bluey, Bingo, Mum and Dad are returning to Salford by popular demand as the Oliver Award-nominated stage show Bluey’s Big Play returns to the city after its in-demand run two years ago.

Families from across Salford who have been captivated by the lovable Australian cartoon dog on CBeebies will get the chance to see Bluey up close when the show runs from Friday, 22nd to Sunday, 31st May.

Featuring brilliantly created puppets, this theatrical adaptation of the Emmy Award-winning children’s television series is packed with music, laughter, and fun for the whole family. The critically acclaimed stage show has captivated audiences of all ages, with Bluey and her family delighting fans with an unforgettable live theatrical experience.

Bluey’s Big Play is a delightful treat for families, featuring the original voices from the beloved TV series, including the instantly recognisable voices of Dave McCormack and Melanie Zanetti as Dad and Mum. Based on an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and featuring music by series composer Joff Bush, this live adaptation is produced by Andrew Kay and Cuffe & Taylor with Windmill Theatre Co for BBC Studios.

When Dad feels like a little bit of afternoon time out, Bluey and Bingo have other plans! Join them as they pull out all of the games and cleverness at their disposal to get Dad off that bean bag. With an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, and new music by Bluey composer Joff Bush – this is Bluey, For Real Life.

Since premiering in Australia, Bluey’s Big Play has toured globally across the UK, Ireland, Canada, the US, Europe, Singapore and the UAE and has been seen by millions of fans worldwide.

Shakira Alleyne, Shea Ellen Roberts, and Laura Wingrove. Starring as Bingo are Shanaye Flanagan, a recent graduate, Reanne Hewitt, and Tess Oliver, who will star as Bluey as the show tours the UK. Taking on the role of Dad are Adam Ryan, Aarod Vawser, and Rhys Wild. Sharing the role of Mum are Miroe Fuches, Olivia Rainbow, and Evie Whybrow. With Helena Mitchell, who also joins as off-stage swing.

Bluey’s Big Play returns to The Lowry Theatre.

After thousands of families snapped up tickets to see the loveable Aussie dog in 2024, theatre bosses had to add extra performances due to demand.

Once again, tickets for Bluey’s Big Play are expected to be among the hottest in town. Prices range from £19 to £37 and are available on the Lowry Theatre website.
