Salford City have signed goalkeeper Sam Long, who won League Two with Bromley last season.
Long has become the Ammies’ second goalkeeper signing in the space of the week, following Will Norris’ arrival from Wycombe Wanderers.
The former Lincoln City stopper spent two years between the sticks at Hayes Lane after a series of loan spells across the UK, including a fruitful spell in Scotland with Falkirk, securing a Scottish League One title to add to his honours list.
The 23-year-old adds international experience to Salford’s ranks having received a call-up to the Scotland Under-21s squad in 2022.
Having achieved promotion in Bromley’s squad last year, Long returns to League Two football to join Peter Cklamovski’s new project at The Peninsula Stadium, signing a two-year deal with the club.
Upon signing, he said: “I am delighted to get the deal done. I want to be the best player that I can be, bring stuff to the group and bring a positive attitude. Hopefully that brings me lots of football, enjoyment and winning.
“Last season with Bromley was an incredible experience and a great thing to be apart of and hopefully I can do it again.
“I have had a few loans and chances to develop and learn my trade at other clubs, so hopefully I can keep doing that here and bring something to the group.”
Sam Long becomes the fourth signing since the beginning of Peter Cklamovski’s reign at Salford this summer.
