An energy infrastructure company has said it expects to create jobs within the next two years after relocating to Salford Quays to support its growth plans.

YLEM Group designs, builds and maintains infrastructure for a range of major businesses including JCB, Scapa, Unilever and Vauxhall.

The firm has relocated from its former base at Edison House in Weaste to 10 Exchange Quay, a 2,840 sq ft purpose-built office, as it looks to expand its workforce over the next 18 months.

YLEM told Salford Now that they are aiming to create between 10 and 15 jobs in the area to support the company’s growth.

“This is an exciting move for YLEM Group and marks an important step in the continued development of the business,” said Ian Gadsby, chief executive officer at YLEM Group.

“Relocating to Exchange Quay gives us a high-quality, well-connected office base that reflects the scale of our ambitions and provides the space we need to support our people, customers and long-term growth.”

“As demand for flexible, reliable, and low-carbon energy solutions continues to increase, it is important that we have the right working environment in place to help our team continue to deliver the highest possible standards and performance across every part of the business.”

The company says it is delighted to move into a “bustling business environment” in close quarters with AJ Bell, TalkTalk and Sage.

Mark Canning, consultant at office agent Canning O’Neill, explained that Exchange Quay is one of the region’s hottest spots for business.

“We are pleased to have completed the lease of 10 Exchange Quay to YLEM Group and to have supported the business with the next stage of its growth journey.

“Exchange Quay remains one of Greater Manchester’s most attractive commercial property business locations, offering excellent transport links, high-quality office accommodation and a wide range of on-site amenities, all in close proximity to the city centre. We look forward to seeing the company flourish in its new home.”
