Two men involved in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine across Salford have been jailed for their roles in the supply of the drugs.
The court heard how GMP had been actively investigating the Class A drug line, which had been operating in the Little Hulton area.
As part of its ‘business’ model, the line recruited and exploited vulnerable children, additionally using the home of a vulnerable drug user as a base of operations.
Harvey Duffy (27/09/2005), of Egerton Road, Walkden, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin, cocaine and crack cocaine and was sentenced to three years and four months imprisonment.
Cameron Caswell (31,03,2003), of Botany Road, Eccles, was sentenced to six years and 10 months after pleading guilty to possession of a firearm and ammunition, as well as being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis.
DC Naylor, from GMP’s Salford district, said: “Duffy and Caswell exploited vulnerable people in their community – including children – as part of their criminality. Drugs profits meant much more for these offenders than the wellbeing of these people.
“By regularly exploiting those most vulnerable, Duffy and Caswell were able to distribute drugs across Little Hulton, making illicit profit and contributing to the cycle of misery that drug dealing permeates.
“I’m glad that they are now behind bars and away from those they would seek to exploit”, DC Naylor added.
Messages revealed that Duffy directed and exercised control over the children with nearly 1,000 communications between them being recorded across a three-month period.
The messages further revealed that the children were given large quantities of drugs and were put in harm’s way in order to supply drugs in the community.
At the time of the communication, the children were reported missing from home, a significant indicator of vulnerability to child criminal exploitation.
It is also known that the children were staying at a vulnerable drug users address, the type of premises typically exploited in county lines activity.
Duffy was arrested and charged with drugs supply offences in February 2026. The following month, Caswell was arrested and likewise charged with drugs offences. Significant communications between the pair were revealed.
Caswell additionally received a sentence for a firearms offence after a gun was found hidden in a property in Little Hulton.
The two received their sentences at Manchester Crown Court on 11 September.
