CURZON Ashton have announced the signing of forward Paul Ennis following his release from Hednesford Town.

The 26-year-old has joined the Nash after featuring heavily for relegated Hednesford Town throughout last season.

The forward arrives with plenty of experience having featured for Stockport County in the Football League whilst also featuring for Droylsden, Colwyn Bay, Guiseley and Staybridge Celtic in the National League North.

Cheadle-born Ennis also has a brief loan spell at Salford City on his CV after joining the Ammies back in 2008.

Fans will be optimistic about Ennis given that he formed a good partnership with Chris Millington, who has already joined the Tameside club as first-team coach.

Ennis is the club’s third signing in as many days after the arrivals of Michael Potts and Jack Truelove, with two more expected before the week is concluded.

Before joining Hednesford Town, Ennis was Staybridge’s player of the season in 2013/14 before going on to be the club’s top scorer in 2014/15.

The club said in a statement on their website: “Everyone at the club would like to extend a warm welcome to Paul ahead of the new campaign!”

After back-to-back promotions, Curzon Ashton secured a club record 11th place finish in the Vanarama National League North last season.

The club’s fourth summer signing this week is expected to be announced at 4pm tomorrow (June 2).
