Si4ters Distillery in Salford is opening its doors to a whole range of activities for a pop-up paint shop

Guests were dipping, sipping and painting all night long with gin in one hand and a paint brush in the other.

It was a Christmas themed evening at the Distillery, guests painted the snowy, starry night along to festive songs. The pop up holds 50 events up and down the country changing the theme to suit the paintings and the music to match the theme.

The idea was to take painting out of the classroom and into bars and restrooms and every day places where people meet on an everyday basis and to try something new and different.

Natalie has been working hosting the pop-up paint events for two years now. She said: “90% of people have never painted before when they come here but now, we have a big following of regulars.

“It’s here to unleash your creativity and even me when I get home I’m itching after this to do something or get creative.

“At first people say they can’t paint and then they see what they’ve done and they’re like wow.”

Some travelled from the other side of the City to Salford to join in, on their own and with friends. The relaxed environment made it easy to make friends and have a laugh without the formality of having to attend a class.

Courtney 22, from Stretford is a fashion student “It’s been really good I’ve expressed myself through the painting and I would recommend it to everyone.”

Another guest who attended with her husband added “Absolutely fantastic I’ve really enjoyed it. We’ve never done anything like this before. We’re having a competition our grandchildren are going to decide who did best.”

The pop up shop will be returning to Salford again later next year and will continue hosting other events around the country bringing the community together, encouraging light hearted fun and friendships.
