Kevin Brown Salford Reds

Salford half-back Kevin Brown has been given a retrospective two-match ban for the headbutt that earned him a spell in the sin-bin during last Friday’s 12-10 defeat by his old club Huddersfield.

Kevin Brown was shown a yellow card for making contact with the head of Giants centre Jordan Turner and the Rugby Football League’s match review panel imposed a two-match penalty notice after deeming it a grade C offence.

The former England international signed for Salford Red Devils last September after making 349 appearances for the likes of Wigan, Huddersfield, Widnes, Warrington and Leigh.

Huddersfield full-back Darnell McIntosh was charged with a grade A late tackle on Brown earlier in the game and avoided a suspension.

What games will he miss?

Brown will miss Red Devils’ upcoming home matches against Leeds Rhinos and Wakefield Trinity.

Ian Watson’s side fared well against Leeds Rhinos last season, winning 20-12 away from home and 28-16 in their fixture at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Meanwhile, their fixtures against Wakefield Trinity saw mixed results, with a comprehensive 44-20 victory at home and a 33-22 loss away at Belle Vue.
