The Kings Arms in Salford has been crowned “best pub” at the Manchester food and drink festival.

The Manchester food and drink festival celebrated its 25th anniversary with an annual gala dinner on Monday September 26 where the Kings Arms picked up the prestigious award.

Landlady Lisa Connor said: “It’s amazing, it’s nice to have the recognition for all of the hard work that my staff have put in.”

Among those shortlisted were Bridge Beers, Heaton Hops, House of Hops, Nordie, Track Taproom, and Station Hop.

When asked why The Kings Arms in Bloom Street, stood above the rest, Lisa said: “I think it’s because we’ve got a very big offering. We do arts and theatre and we’re very community focussed.

“We’ve got a theatre space upstairs so we do lots of plays, stand-up comedy, music gigs. We literally do everything here.”
