Christmas is fast approaching, and with it comes a flurry of shopping. This year, with the cost of living crisis, it is arguably more important than ever to help support local businesses in your shopping, if you can afford it.

However, finding local shops that have what your loved ones want can be hard, especially when compared to the ease of using online sites.

Salford Home Brew has been open for over 30 years and is your one stop shop in Salford when buying for anyone who fancies themselves as a brewer.

The shop has just about anything you can think of when it comes to brewing alcohol. They have kits for making your own beer, cider and v.

The shop also sells its own spirits, corks as well as barley and malt.

The home brewery kits make for a great gift to make after Christmas and drink on New Year’s Eve.

Located on Monton Road, Wandering Palate are self-described as “Purveyors of fine wines and indulgences.”

The shop has been open just over 18 months but there is a little bit of something in there for everyone.

While wine does dominate the shelves, there are also lots of luxury treats to enjoy that are all locally sourced as well as ceramics and glasses.

And with a selection of cured meats, spreads, baked goods, ice cream and crisps, it makes for a good place to shop for Christmas and New Year’s snacks as well as presents.
