A free Santa’s Grotto is coming to Eccles to help alleviate the burden fo the cost of living crisis.

Elm Bank Masonic Hall’s monthly craft fair will feature a free Santa’s grotto for children on December 11th.

With families struggling due to the current cost of living crisis, the organisers of the event wanted to bring some Christmas cheer.

Research conducted by Consumer Intelligence has found that 43% of people were planning on cutting back on presents this holiday season.

As a result of this, Nicola Underwood, promoter of the event said: “We wanted to bring Santa Claus to children who otherwise wouldn’t be receiving a visit from him, due to the tough times families are experiencing.”

Children that visit the grotto will also receive a small gift which is free of charge.

Running alongside the grotto will be the craft fair featuring 34 traders selling items such as hand made fudge, cakes, pies and home fragrance. There will also be a pre bookable afternoon tea available. The event will be held from 11am-4pm on Sunday 11 December at Elm Bank Masonic Hall, Half Edge Lane, Eccles, M30 98A
