Salford City will be looking to make Good Friday a great one as they play host to run away league leaders, Leyton Orient.

Following on from their draw away at Stockport County, The Ammies find themselves in the final play-off spot, a point behind Bradford City.

Neil Wood’s men will be facing stern opposition at the Peninsula stadium on Friday though, with Orient seven points clear at the top of the table.

Salford will, however, take some hope from the fact that The O’s have won one game in their previous five. The East London side will also be without striker, Charlie Kelman, following his dismissal in Orient’s narrow win over Carlisle.

Friday’s game may well see the debut of new signing, Adrian Mariappa, who is yet to make his first appearance for the club. There may well also be a return to the starting XI for Ibou Touray, who came off the bench against Stockport County.

The Ammies will also go into the game with striker, Callum Hendry, nominated for player of the month and manager, Neil Wood nominated for manager of the month.

Neil Wood’s side won 11 points from a possible 15 in the month of March and Hendry scored four goals in five matches.

There are just seven games remaining for Salford this season as they look to push hard for promotion which has thus far, eluded them since promotion to League Two.

The two sides last met back in October, where Salford fell to a 1-0 defeat at Brisbane Road courtesy of a goal from star winger, Paul Smyth.
