Metrolink passengers will be able to hear a series of announcements this week voiced by oasis star Liam Gallagher.
The Manchester music legend has taken over tram announcements in Salford and across the northern network.
In an excerpt released by Transport for Greater Manchester Liam announces: “The next stop is the Etihad Campus – the home of the champions of England and the champions of Europe. Come on City!”
Salford resident, Richard Jones, heard Liam announce his next stop Langworthy on the way to work this morning (October 12).
Richard said: “It’s great to hear Liam and it’s nice for a change.”
Liam is taking over tram announcements in celebration of the Bee Network, Greater Manchester’s integrated public transport system, and Beyond the Music festival.
A spokesperson for Liam Gallagher said: “Liam’s doing his bit to get behind the festival and encourage people to get into the city and support new up and coming talent.”
