Irlam FC find themselves in the hat for the second round of the FA Vase draw after progressing from the first round of the competition.

A convincing 4-1 win away at Ebac Northern League side Northallerton sealed Irlam’s place in round two.

Goals from John Main, Charlie Roberts and a brace from the prolific striker Declan Daniels were enough to see off the North Yorkshire outfit despite Mason Hardy giving the home side a shock lead after a goalkeeping error.

Irlam’s opponent is yet to be confirmed with Seaham Red Star and Knaresborough Town playing on October 28 with the winner hosting the second round tie.

Not only will a place in the third round be at stake on Saturday November 11 but the winner will also find themselves £900 richer, a sum that could be really helpful to teams at this level.

Despite the stakes being high, even if Irlam find themselves on the wrong end of the result they will still pick up £275 for their efforts.

But John Main’s side will be hoping to find themselves in the third round and £900 better off next month.
