A Salford police officer

An appeal for witnesses and information has been issued following reports of anti-social behaviour in Salford over Halloween weekend.

On Saturday October 31 officers were called to several reports of groups of youths setting off fireworks on Liverpool Road, Cadishead in Salford.

Police attended and a number of youths fled the area. Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible.

Chief inspector Lee Gridley, neighbourhood lead for GMP Salford district said: “This weekend, we issued a dispersal order following several reports of anti-social behaviour in Eccles. Police attended, and Neighbourhood officers were granted enhanced stop and search powers for a period of 24-hours.

“We will not tolerate anti-social behaviour in our communities, and we will relentlessly tackle criminality, disrupt ASB and improve safety for local communities.

“If you have concerns about issues in your area, please reach out to us and report it. We are listening, and we will take action.”
