Students and staff at Salford City Academy are celebrated after GCSEs were awarded across the country.
Among those students celebrating their achievements yesterday included students with grades eight’s and nines.
Students of Salford City Academy included Taym, who achieved six grade 9s and four grade 8s, and Bassam, who achieved five grade 9s, three grade 8s and two grade 7s.

Students receiving their grades also included Dasilva, who achieved one grade 9, five grade 8s and three grade 7s.as well as Amanda, who achieved four grade 9s, two grade 8s, and three grade 7s.
Speaking of her success, Amanda said: “I’m really pleased with my results. I didn’t expect them but I’m very grateful!”
As well as Mohammed who achieved three grade 9s, four grade 8s and one grade 7, and Leonardo, who achieved five grade 9s and three grade 8s, Leonardo’s father said: “I think Salford City Academy was very supportive to Leonardo. His grades are amazing which is down to Leonardo but the school played a very big part.”
Following the received results, Mel Haselden, Principal at Salford City Academy, said: “Well done to all our Year 11 students picking up their GCSE results today.
“After beginning their secondary school journey in the midst of the pandemic, this cohort has overcome many obstacles to achieve what they have today and should be very proud of the resilience and determination they have shown.
“With the support of our excellent teams of staff and our fantastic parent community, our students are now able to take their next steps with confidence and I have no doubt that they will go on to bright futures.”
