People in Salford can benefit from a free course to gain a certificate in the UK construction industry.
The ‘CSCS’ card provides proof that people working in construction have the right qualifications.
The usual fixed rate to take the test is £36, which is why this is a great opportunity to take the course for free.
The free Construction Skills Certificate Scheme course is November 19 and 20.
Anyone aged 18 or over, unemployed and with the right to work in the UK is eligible.

Broughton Trust fund, based at the Humphrey Booth Centre in Lower Broughton, provides adult learning, youth work, employment support and community development across Salford. Most of its volunteers and employees live within an 8-mile radius of the organisation.
Chief Officer at Broughton Trust, Dave Mayers said: “Regardless of any qualification from college, you still need a CSCS card to work in construction. It makes sense for us to actually deliver the courses in the heart of the community.”If you want to work in construction, it’s 18+ up to wherever.
“It will help massively, because we are removing another barrier. Various people have gone to college and learned the skills in various trades, but can’t gain real experience on a building site without a CSCS card.”
