Planning permission has been granted to build 185 homes in a new Salford neighbourhood, where work is expected to begin early in 2026.
One, two and three-bedroom apartments are set to be developed as part of a second phase of work on the former Farmer Norton car park on Clemison Street, after plans were approved.
The new apartments will add to phase one of the Farmer Norton scheme, which will deliver 42 three-bedroom houses. The former Farmer Norton car park project will form part of Adelphi Village, a development expected to provide more than 800 homes in total.
Work in the area forms part of the £2.5bn Crescent Salford masterplan, led by Salford Council alongside the University of Salford and developer ECF.
Developers said work is expected to begin early next year as they aim to deliver enhanced quality and meet a wide range of housing needs, while also prioritising sustainable living through the Adelphi Village.
American commercial real estate services and investment firm CBRE advised ECF on planning for the Farmer Norton site, which will be designed by London-based architecture firm dRMM.
Steve Thomas, senior development manager at ECF, said: “With planning consent received, we look forward to making a start on the next community in Adelphi Village.
These future-proofed, high-quality homes are key to the creation of a sustainable, mixed tenure neighbourhood that meets the needs of different people in the Crescent area.
“Working as a partnership, we’re utilising our experience in investment, housing and urban regeneration to deliver homes that prioritise the health and wellbeing of communities, whilst addressing the urgent requirements for quality housing in Salford.”
