Salfordian actor Adam Thomas is set for a dramatic return to our TV screens for the newest season of I’m a Celebrity South Africa.

Thomas, born in Salford, has appeared on critically acclaimed TV Shows Waterloo Road and Emmerdale.

After making an appearance on I’m a Celeb in 2016, where he came third, he is set to make a return to the I’m a Celeb camp.

I’m a Celebrity South Africa is an all-stars version of the series, with many former participants set for a return in this reunion form of the popular reality series.

Thomas said at the launch event: “It was completely different compared to the last series that I did – it was so much more tougher.

“Although I did quite a lot of trials in the first series, these were so much bigger and harder than ever before.”

The series returns on ITV in April, with stars Harry Redknapp and Scarlett Moffatt (who beat Thomas to the title during the 2016 season) also returning to the hammocks.

Unlike the normal series set in the jungle of Australia, this spin-off takes place at Kruger National park in South Africa. The first season of the show aired in April of 2023, where singer Myleene Klass took home the crown.

Now three years on, one of Salford’s very own is getting another opportunity with the hit ITV series.

Thomas still has close ties to the city. Opening a pop-up version of his Burger restaurant The Spinn in Media City for a time in 2021. His Brother, Ryan Thomas, is an actor too, starring in Coronation Street, which is famously filmed in Salford Quays.
