Seventy-five of everyone’s favourite ‘mischief makers’ have been reimagined as Beano characters – including Salford’s very own Angry Ginge.

In celebration of Dennis The Menace’s 75th anniversary, Angry Ginge, otherwise known as Morgan Burtwistle, features alongside other legendary celebrities to commemorate 2026 being declared the Beano’s Year of Mischief – with the special edition marking the longest fold-out cover in the comic’s history.

The special issue revamps the influential I’m A Celeb Winner and others aged 10, like the original trouble-maker Dennis The Menace himself, as a reminder that “being bold and yourself is the best way to grow up.”

All ‘mischief makers’ have been voted for and championed by children, and include other icons like Jack Black, Madonna, Rowan Atkinson and The Beatles – all in support of the National Year of Reading and making reading mischievous again.

The anniversary comic is officially on sale today (March 17) illustrating the 75 celebrities all banding together to throw a huge street birthday party for Dennis, upholding the same laughter that has been sparked in every generation since 1951.
