A Big Brother star who has multiple sclerosis is set to appear at a free event in Salford aimed at raising awareness of the condition and available support services.
Kerry Riches will discuss the disease affecting nerves in the brain and spinal cord at an event taking place in Salford Quays from 1-5pm on Saturday, 18 April.
The 42-year-old was diagnosed with relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (MS) 17 years ago, and became the first wheelchair user to enter the Big Brother house.
The former NHS worker rose to prominence after appearing on the reality show in 2023, says MS is her “superpower.”
She will be on-site at the Copthorne hotel to share her experiences of the disease and offer advice.
Organisers have explained the afternoon will be designed for anyone living with MS, their families, friends and carers.
Attendees can expect a comprehensive programme including, talks on the latest MS research and developments in treatments, taster sessions for activities such as yoga and seated dance and opportunities to meet local support groups.

“Her passion for raising awareness helps us reach the 150,000 people in the UK living with MS, ensuring they know they aren’t alone and that support is available right here in Greater Manchester.”
The MS Society is the UK’s leading charity for people affected by MS and they are committed to providing support, funding research and campaigning to improve the lives of people living with the disease.
Beyond their event at Salford Quays, the charity runs a free MS helpline offering emotional support and benefits advice to anyone with the condtion.
