The family of a Salford man who suffered a serious brain injury while on holiday in Greece have launched a fundraising appeal to help cover the cost of bringing him home.
Bradley Belhomme is currently on life support at a hospital in Athens with a serious brain injury.
He suffered the injury in a quad bike crash while on holiday with his friends.
His family have set up a fundraising page to support Bradley’s return to the country, while members of the local community are preparing to take part in a charity walk in support of the appeal.
On 2 August, people from across the region are set to hike 23 kilometres from Monton to Rivington Pike, a distinctive 19th-century tower at the summit of Winter Hill on Lancashire’s West Pennine Moors.
The walk is expected to take around seven hours to complete and costs £10 to join, with the money raised going towards funding Bradley’s return home.
Family member Angela Potter set up the appeal on the crowdfunding site GoFundMe. In a statement posted on the page, she said: “Unfortunately, this is a message I didn’t ever expect to have to ask, but we as Bradley’s family are asking for as much help as we can to help cover medical costs and travel costs to help bring him home.
“Bradley is currently on life support in Athens with a serious brain injury. After a serious collision on a quad while enjoying his holiday with friends, we are reaching out for any help you can give and would be grateful for any donations you can possibly give.”
