Pupils across Salford have been receiving their GCSE results today as they prepare for the next stage of their lives.

The exciting and nerve-wracking reveal comes after five years’ worth of studying for students in secondary schools across the city.

It marks the beginning of a new chapter in sixth forms, colleges, apprenticeships and the world of work for Salford’s GCSE and BTec class of 2026.

Across the country, the proportion of entries receiving the top GCSE grades has risen for the second year in a row and remains higher than before the Covid-19 pandemic.
