How We Handle Complaints

Stage 1 – Initial Review

We will acknowledge your complaint within five working days.

An editor not directly involved in the content will review the complaint. We aim to provide a full written response within 15 working days. If more time is needed, we will explain why.

Straightforward factual errors may be corrected promptly.

Stage 2 – Senior Review

If you are dissatisfied, you may request a further review within ten working days.

The complaint will then be considered by a Senior Editor.

We aim to respond within 20 working days. This is our final internal stage.

Possible Outcomes

Following investigation we may:

  • Publish a correction
  • Publish a clarification
  • Publish an apology
  • Amend or remove content
  • Offer a right of reply
  • Decide that no action is required

Significant corrections will be clearly identified and published promptly.

Legal Matters

Nothing in this procedure prevents you from seeking independent legal advice. Where legal issues arise, we may take advice before responding.
