However, in a statement on the clubs website, Bolton Wanderers Chairman Ken Anderson addressed these claims of a sale saying “Nobody has been instructed or retained to sell the club” despite receiving “many enquiries from China, America, Canada, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the UK” over the past 12 months.

The document in question “outlines the value of the club and its assets” and “has been referred to what is generally known in corporate financial circles as a ‘teaser’” according to Anderson’s statement.
