CANADIAN drive-thru coffee chain Tim Hortons is set to open its first English location in Salford.

Described as the first of ‘several openings’ across Manchester this coming month, the brand will bring its coffee and bite-size doughnuts to Salford, opening on Bury New Road.

Chief finance and commercial officer Kevin Hydes said: “Salford is a fantastic area and shares similar values with Tim Hortons – a strong sense of community and friendly culture.

“The area is modern and metropolitan, while its population is passionate about fresh food and great coffee, making it the perfect location for our first restaurant in England and UK Drive Thru.”

Hyde also mentioned the recent upturn in interest in Salford through the continued development of areas such as Broughton, Ordsall and Media City.

He said: “Salford is a great city that’s thriving both economically and culturally. We’re confident its population will love our products and brand.”

He also said: ““The British coffee shop market has grown significantly over the past few years and Britain’s appetite for coffee shows no sign of stopping.

“However, Tim Hortons® offers a differentiated brewed coffee offering which showcases outstanding quality with everyday great value – we’re also a restaurant that offers not only delicious freshly brewed coffee, but a wide range of delicious, freshly-made food available morning, noon and night.”

Tim Hortons Drive- Thru is a major part of Canadian Culture, and Hyde describes the company ‘could not be more excited’ to open their first UK drive-thru, following the successful openings of both Glasgow and Cardiff stores.
