Working class movement library

A popular local reading room is reopening its doors, after spending time putting a series of additional safety measures in place.

The Working Class Movement Library, which sits on the Crescent, have announced they are to reopen their popular reading room. Due to the nature of the reading room, the number of researchers available and the process of obtaining reading materials has drastically changed.

Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, people who wish to visit will now have to book an appointment. The number of researchers has changed as well, with only two researchers available on any one day.

In order to give everyone a fair chance to be able to visit, The Working Class Movement Libary are trailing a new booking system. This new system means that readers can book a place for no longer than two days within any period of 14 days.

The Working Class Movement Library which normally welcomes walk-in visitors and tours are currently developing online exhibitions and podcasts as a method of offering an online experience

The Reading room which opens for appointment only from Tuesday 15th September operates Tuesdays to Friday 10 am to 4 pm. Information on booking a place at The Working Class Movement Library Reading room can be found on their website here,
