New yoga sessions for mothers and their babies in Worsley are beginning in November and December.

Baby yoga at ‘Peace at Last’ in Worsley are in their second week of sessions from the six-session course. Mothers can join now or the sessions beginning in December. They also offer sessions on pregnancy yoga and baby massage.

Pregnant mothers can attend pregnancy yoga until just before birth, babies are welcome from birth until pre-walking for baby massage and 12 weeks old until pre-walking for baby yoga.

Katherine Crabtree, the Founder and Owner of ‘Peace at Last’, created this place after her own experience with having children.

She learned about baby yoga, massages and breathing throughout the birth and upbringing of her three children which she said: “Changed my life.”

Katherine is qualified through doing a Level 2 course in breastfeeding and a Level 3 course in adult yoga.

This inspired her to bring moments of peace to other mums and teach them about how they can benefit from baby yoga.

Katherine explained what the yoga involves. She said: “Stretches for babies which help their development and stretches for mums to make them feel more comfortable and help with their core strength post-pregnancy.”

Chloe Costello attended pregnancy yoga during lockdown as well as baby massage with her child, Ivy. She said: “It was such a lovely environment and Kate just made it so welcoming, they gave me something really meaningful to do.”

The sessions also offer support through meeting other mums and helping them to get out of the house with very young babies.

Chloe assisted the sessions with her seven-week-old baby. She said: “It really did open my maternity leave to me and it helped me to meet people and get out of the house, which was a big thing.”

Another mother, Lizzie Staniland, spoke about the benefits of the sessions for first time mums. She said: “A lot of what she does you can carry on at home, like massage techniques, which you can use to take time to bond with your baby.”

‘Peace at Last’ also offer a Christmas session which will run in mid to late December, with sensory play for babies and where mums can also feel relaxed and find support from others.
