Bridgewater gardens is hosting another light show after last year’s success, with a pledge to keep environmental impact at a minimum.

The display, held in Worsley, will have spectacles of light, performances, and festive treats to keep you warm while you navigate your way through the gardens.

Upon arrival, you’ll follow a lit up one-way path that guides you through each major section of the event such as the swinging lights performance, the walled gardens, the woodlands, and the magical moon bridge water performance which features a light up water fountain display.

You can also take a festive break at the new Stables café where you can buy food and drinks; some of the favourites being a Bailey’s hot chocolate, mulled wine, and hot dogs.

A visitor at the event, said: “The display is a good alternative to the Christmas markets in Manchester that are always too busy. Here, we have something special right on our doorstep, and I think it’s a place that we’ll keep on coming to as long as its still here.”

Towards the end of the walk you’ll be able to experience the interactive lights that change colour at the press of a button and then you’ll arrive back at the garden centre where you can buy Christmas décor.

Another visitor added: “I come here all the time with my mum but now that all the lights are up it’s completely different feeling. We’ve come as a family and its something that everyone can enjoy. We’ve all had a hot chocolate each and now we’re going to buy some decorations before we leave.”

RHS Bridgewater are also making sure that the event is as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible. Signs on the event read, “all our displays only run for the opening hours of the event. All glow lights are energy efficient LED lights. All our main power comes from renewable sources. Every Glow light is built to last a minimum of five years, and then we repair wherever possible rather than replace.”

The car park lighting is also provided by hydrogen cell tower lights which means avoiding the use of fossil fuels.

The event starts on November 16th and will be open every Wednesday and Saturday until December 17th, then Tuesdays and Fridays only between 20th-30th December.

Tickets are £12 per adult and £6 per child. Members of RBH will get a discounted rate that brings the cost down to £6 per adult and £3 per child. Under 5’s and companions of a disabled person can enter for free.
