Irlam finish their season in 13th position after an embarrassing away performance.
Their final game came in a 5-1 thrashing away to Charnock Richard.
With nothing left to play for, Irlam coasted the game and were completely outclassed.
Charnock Richard still has the opportunity to gain a promotion play-off spot, so perhaps the outcome could be explained by that.
The game saw Charnock dominate and left a bitter taste of the season in the mouth of Irlam fans.
Remaining in the league, yet not fighting for play-off positions will leave fans bitterly disappointed.
Irlam will hope to turn things around in time for next year’s campaign.
Fans can expect new signings and perhaps new staff, as Irlam aim for promotion next year.
Whilst this season has had ups and downs, the fans have still been treated to plenty of goals!
Hopefully that doesn’t change next season.
