A Salford Sporting Centre has had to remain closed after a supposed “serious incident” involving a contractor working at height.

Graystone Action Sports Centre, of Brunel Avenue, reported the news via an Instagram post, yesterday afternoon (23rd November).

North West Ambulance Service arrived at the premise after a call just before 15:15 yesterday and a patient was taken to Hospital. Exact details of the incident are yet to be confirmed by the Centre.

The Centre announced it would remain closed for the rest of yesterday evening and for the rest of today (24th November), via the post.

The contractor involved is believed to be “doing okay.”

Officials from the Centre shared the news via an Instagram post. It read: “CLOSED for the rest of this evening WEDNESDAY 23rd NOVEMBER due to unforeseen circumstances.”

An incident update, posted a few hours later read: “Following a serious incident today involving contractors working at height, we expect to remain closed until around 4pm tomorrow. Please check before travelling. We are hearing that the man involved is doing okay and wish him well.”

Graystone Action Sports Centre declined to make a statement on the incident.
