Salford City are on the road again this weekend as they travel to Brunton Park, home of Carlisle United.

While a win would not see Salford leapfrog Saturday’s hosts, (unless there is quite the swing in goal difference) it would see them draw level on points with Carlisle in a huge match to determine the Playoffs.

Last time out, a late Matty Lund winner saw Salford emerge victorious from Walsall despite being reduced to ten men.

Salford also come in to the game with two of their players receiving a place in the League Two team of the season at the English Football League (EFL) awards ceremony on Sunday evening, with Elliot Watt and Ibou Touray making the grade.

Speaking after the victory at Walsall, Head Coach, Neil Wood, said: “Credit to the players, we keep going to the end and they never give up and to me that’s a big part about what playing for this football club is about.”

Carlisle will be coming into the game with a player in the Team of The Season themselves as a result of Owen Moxon’s performances. The Cumbrians have won 2 of their last five games, most recently beating local rivals, Barrow AFC, 1-0.

Both sides will be wary that both Bradford City and Mansfield Town are within striking distance with a game in hand on Salford and Carlisle.

A win would be huge to Salford City’s playoff push, the game kicks off at 3pm on Saturday the 29th of April.
