AJ Bell Stadium, Salford red Devils fixture list

A staggering £364,270 has been raised by supporters of Salford Red Devils to see them become the first wholly community owned club in the northern hemisphere.

The Reds Rise Together campaign surpassed the initial target of £250,000, last Tuesday (30 May), six days earlier than the club anticipated.

A total of 1291 pledges of support were made via the club’s Crowdfunder page in just 42 days, since April 22.

The scheme aims to see the club transition in to the “first elite rugby league club in the northern hemisphere to become a truly and legally community owned club.”

A Facebook post from the club said: “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙙… 👹 A phenomenal £364,270 has been raised. Thank you to all of our new owners for making history with 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 club. We will be in touch will all owners imminently to outline the next steps. #RedsRiseTogether.”

In a statement last week, Paul King, Managing Director of Salford Red Devils said: “Obviously, this is a special moment. Our initial target has been surpassed with time left on the clock, and so firstly can I just say ‘thank you’ to our new owners and those supporting the campaign.

“At our event last week, we spoke about what this means for our sport, reaffirmed the club vision, and heard about what this could mean for the immediate community within the City of Salford. Having spoken with so many people since, you can really feel the positivity currently emanating from the campaign, and that has translated directly to the rising number over the last week.

“We have almost 1000 new commercial sales staff, 1000 new ticketing staff, 1000 of the most vocal advocates we could wish for. All together, we’re taking this club in a new direction.”
