A new mobile vet service is set on “trans-fur-ming” traditional pet healthcare in Salford, Manchester and Cheshire.

Vet Luke Ainsworth, from Chorlton, has transformed his ordinary Fiat Ducato into a fully equipped mobile veterinary surgery for around £30,000.

Having worked as a vet since 2005, the founder of My Visit Vet, Luke, witnessed “first-hand the stress that can result from a trip to the vets.”

Luke also observed an increasing demand for home visits, especially after the covid pandemic, which saw a rise in both pet separation anxiety and owners working from home.

According to research, pet anxiety is a common problem in the UK, with 74 per cent of dogs showing behaviour indicating anxiety or depression

His service provides 90 per cent of the healthcare available at traditional practices, this includes consultations, vaccinations, operations and compassionate end of life care.

Luke’s “unique” vet van is also equipped with anaesthesia, lab equipment, ultrasound, and even x-ray capabilities.

Luke commented: “I’m delighted to finally be getting My Visit Vet on the road! I’ve been wanting to open a mobile vet clinic for a few years now, so it feels amazing to finally be making it a reality.

“I’ve seen first-hand the benefits this type of veterinary care can bring when it comes to reducing stress in patients, and I’m proud to provide an unrushed, personalised service like no other to pets in Manchester and Cheshire.”
