Salford’s Pride festival Pink Picnic will return to Peel Park in June for its 13th year, with tickets for the event going on sale at noon this Saturday (February 24).

A limited amount of free tickets are on offer but organisers Salford Pride ask for a donation to be made in order to support the charity and the work it does for the Salford community.

VIP tickets are also available through the PinkPLUS experience ticket, offering an exclusive area and extras.

As Greater Manchester’s largest grassroots Pride event and an estimated 8,000-plus attendance, demand is expected to be high.

Salford Pride’s marketing and brand lead David Winterton said: “The grassroots Pride celebration personifies the true essence of what Pride means and what it originally stood for.

“With the community at its heart, the event brings the local residents, groups, organisations, charities and businesses together to showcase Salford’s diverse communities.”

The festival’s main stage will host a variety of live entertainment and celebrity talks “showcasing a roster of local diverse LGBT+ talent, headline artists and more”.

Expect to see drag, musicians, dancers, DJs and powerful words from prominent voices in the community, including Salford Pride patron and trans activist Annie Wallace (Hollyoaks).

Mr Winterton said: “As well as the main stage, the event will host community and market stalls promoting local groups, organisations, charities, and businesses, activities and entertainment for families, children, and LGBT+ youth, inflatables, a bar tent, food and drink vendors and much more.”

He expressed excitement for the summer festival and its new additions, saying: “2024 will bring exciting new attractions and features to the iconic event, with The Pink Picnic 2024 taking over more space within Peel Park for that extra space, plus a new layout, the return of fairground rides and much more.”
