A doctor at Salford Royal Hospital recently picked up four medals at the World Aquatics Championships held in Qatar.
26-year-old Charlotte Taylor from Cheshire was awarded a silver medal in the 100m butterfly and three bronze medals in relay events.
Charlotte has been training as a swimmer for 15 years, starting at eleven and carrying it though school, university and full time employment.
Charlotte added: “It has been really busy but for me, swimming was always my relaxation outside of work and time to do something different.
“Of course it’s hard work but for me it’s enjoyable and helps me manage so that I can work well when I am at work.”
The World Aquatics Championships held in Doha earlier this year was Charlotte’s first ever world championship competition.
Charlotte added: “I enjoyed it so much it was really good fun, the atmosphere was great, competing with people from all nationalities was really exciting as well.”
Charlotte competed alongside Danielle Mills who also works at Salford Royal. Two out of Dr Daniel Mills’ four medals he won at the world championships in Doha are gold.
The next step for Charlotte is to compete in the British Masters Championships that will be held in Swansea this April.
Charlotte said: “I’ll be aiming to pick up some medals there and potentially win some of my age group events.”
